She accepts court cases in the four Western counties: Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire and Franklin. She makes house calls, and hospital or nursing home visits.
Before becoming an attorney Marie worked in human resources at an international corporation, and worked with disabled employees with illnesses and injuries. She has two Masters degrees in psychology and this background allows her to understand the unique needs of individuals and families who come to her for legal services.
In her family law practice she emphasizes mediation as a method of reaching a settlement of legal issues in the case. She is a certified mediator and also provides mediation in family law matters, as an alternative to the traditional adversarial method in a family law court case. She also represents individual parties when the process is adversarial, in the Probate Court.
Marie volunteers in her community in several areas including speaking at local senior centers on legal topics, supports Gardening the Community, is a member of Human Rights Committee of Work Opportunity Center in Agawam, and member of Women Business Owners Alliance.
Marie hails from Springfield, where she currently makes her home. She is a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and the North Carolina Tar Heels mens’ and womens’ basketball teams. She also enjoys The Quadrangle Museums, gardening, and singing in her church choir.
