Firm Summary
Christie was raised in North Minneapolis, the daughter of ministers who ran an inner city ministry center. She graduated from St. Benedict’s College/St. John’s University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. Christie attended law school at Marquette University. Upon graduating from law school in 1999, Christie worked as an associate at an insurance defense firm. After moving to Illinois with her husband, Jamie, Christie worked as a criminal prosecutor in both the Kane County and DeKalb County State’s Attorney offices. For several years prior to joining Krupp & Krupp she worked for the criminal defense firm Amato & Sheen.
Having played the violin and piano from early on, Christie worked throughout college by playing with the St. Cloud Orchestra and teaching violin through the St. Cloud Suzuki School. During law school she was a member of No Strings Attached, a string ensemble comprised of Milwaukee area attorneys and judges. Christie has kept music in her life by playing the violin with groups such as DeKalb’s Stagecoach Theater and the Kishwaukee Community Orchestra. She keeps a small studio of private violin, piano and guitar students.
Christie has continuously been involved with various non-profit efforts and has been a volunteer with such organizations as Prison Ministries in Minnesota, Habitat for Humanity, the Family Service Agency, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and St. Vincent DePaul. She currently focuses her legal practice in the areas of real estate, ip and elder law. Her diverse background gives Christie insight into family dynamics and many of the matters that Krupp & Krupp handle.
Christie & Jamie live in DeKalb. They are busy raising their three children – two boys and one girl – along with two dogs.
