Firm Summary
You asked. Here’s a little more information about me including the required education and law firm employment background. I graduated from Boston University, B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1979, and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, J.D., 1982. I was admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1982, the United States District Court (District of Massachusetts) in 1983, and the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals in 1988.
My legal career began at the venerable Hale & Dorr in Boston (now WilmerHale) in the commercial litigation department including asbestos defense followed by a position at the former century old mid-size firm of Powers & Hall in Boston, again in the commercial litigation department but also expanding my practice areas into family and divorce, real estate, fine arts representation and transactions, administrative and municipal litigation, contract disputes, and ip before setting up my practice in Walpole and North Attleboro.
I am a member of the Bar Association of Norfolk County and the Bristol County Bar Association. I also serve as a court appointed Conciliator for the Bristol and Norfolk County Probate and Family Courts.
Throughout my career, in addition to my practice in Massachusetts, I have represented business and individual clients in numerous state and federal courts as either primary or oversight counsel in such venues as Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Illinois, California, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania.
From time to time I have served as seminar lecturer including presentations at the American Bar Association on “Fine Arts: Recovery Actions for Theft and Fraud” and the Animal Control Officers of Massachusetts Certification Program. For something a little different, up to very recently I also instructed SAT and GRE test preparation courses.
My interests and joys outside of the office include my two sons, captaining USTA League tennis teams to district and national championship tournaments, road cycling, mountain biking, snowboarding, and cheering on the Boston sports teams.
